Proverbs 11:6 The Righteous, again_
The righteousness of the upright will deliver them, But the treacherous will be caught by their own greed. Proverbs 11:6 NASB
This proverb is very similar to the previous: Solomon continues to distinguish between the righteous and wicked. There are serious benefits to being righteous. How many situations do we get into in our life? And no matter who we are, we face tough circumstances. And not just generally, but often daily. But the Father’s words to us are sure and secure: he delivers us from them. All. Trust him. If our lives were only about the good choices we made, possibly we could escape trouble. But as soon as you consider the many things you cannot control, then you must also consider the unknown support that He surrounds us with in His heavenly messengers and with his own presence.
On the flip side of the equation, we humans create our own trouble and it’s based on our own desire, lust… greed. The desire that wants more and better and has a singular focus: me.
Let these words speak powerfully to you. The path we take in following our Savior is not inconsequential. It has power. He delivers. In verse 5 He makes our way smooth. In verse 4 He delivers from death. In verse 3 He guides us. Heaven-people hear from heaven, receive heaven’s approach, have heaven’s ideas, and are as unpredictable as the wind. The wicked look at us and scratch their head: we make no sense to the natural, earth-centered mind.
